Procedures for International Teachers to Apply for Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit in China (to Work in China No More Than 90 Days)
International teachers meeting the criteria for Foreign Professionals (Category B)who are employed by CCNU to engage in management, scientific research, teaching, or other work and will stay in China no more than90 days. For those High Level foreign talents (Category A) who are employed or invited by CCNU to engage in teaching, academic lectures, scientific research, management, consultation and other work for a short period of time (no more than 180 days), please apply for Talent Visa.
Those who meet one of the following requirements are qualified as Category B Foreign Professionals (Here only lists the common qualifications CCNU employed teachers may meet. For the complete list, please refer to Attachment (《国家外国专家局 人力资源社会保障部 外交部 公安部关于全面实施外国人来华工作许可制度的通知》) or consult the International Office.):
(1) Management personnel, professional or technical personnel who are engaged in scientific research, teaching, management and other work in CCNU.
Must have bachelor degree or above and at least 2 years of relevant work experiences.
(2) Foreign language teachers
Should be from a native-speaking country of the language, with a bachelor degree or above and with more than 2 years of teaching experiences in the language;
For a non native teacher, he/she should acquire a bachelor’s degree or above in the native-speaking country, and have more than 2 years of teaching experiences in the language.
For those who obtained a bachelor’s degree or above in education orthe language to teach or, those who obtained a teacher’s certificate or certificates of international language teaching that meets the requirements (such as a TESOL or TEFL certificate of 120 hours), may exempt from work experience requirements.
1. To apply for Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit in China
Before coming to China, to apply for Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit in China, please provide the following documents and information:
①CV including the following information:
name as shown on passport,
marriage status as married, not married, divorced, or widowed,
phone number in China (yours or your contact person’s),
all countries that ever issued you a passport
mailing address in home country,
whether you have had a job in China before, if so, when and where,
emergency contact person in China, his/her name, phone number and email address.
And which Chinese Embassy or Consulate to apply for F visa, ie which Chinese consulate region your home belongs to.
②Scan of the name and photo page of your passport
CCNU will prepare other documents required and apply for the Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit in China for you.
2. To apply for Employment Visa (Z visa)
After receiving the pdf form of Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit in China, please print it and go to apply for Z visa at the Chinese embassy or consulate in your country with the Notification Letter and other documents required.
3. Possible application procedure after entry of China
After coming to China with Z visa, if you are to stay in China within 30 days, you do not need to make other applications. If you are to stay in China for more than 30 days, you will need to go to the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Wuhan Public Security Bureau to apply for Residence Permit within 30 days of entry. The procedure is as follows:
(1) To register your residence
After entry of China, you need to go to register your residence within 24 hours to get proof of residence form.
· If you live in Foreign Experts Apartment Building of CCNU, the International Office staff will get the proof of residence for you, please give a copy or send them a picture of your Z visa and entry stamp page of your passport.
· If you live in other places, please go to the local police station to register and get the proof of residence. Please bring with you your passport and photocopy, 2 white background ID pictures and the original and photocopy of the apartment lease or other proof of owning or renting the apartment.
(2) To apply for Resident Permit
A. Your passport, original and photocopies of the ID, visa page together with the entry stamp page.
B.Notification Letter of Foreigner’s Work Permit in China.
C. Health Certificate, original and photocopy, issued by Hubei International Travel Healthcare Center, Address: No. 453Luoshi Road, or any international travel healthcare centre under provincial inspection and quarantine department in China.
D.proof of residence form got from ①
E. 1ID picture taken within 6 months, Chinese 2 inches in size with white background.
Note: Your passport will stay at the Exit and Entry Administration Department of Wuhan Public Security Bureau 15 working days during the process to get the Residence Permit. If you have international travel plans during the time, you can apply for expedited approval to speed up the process to as fast as 10 working days, but you have to submit a copy of the air ticket.
